The team grew

The fifth edition coincided with the largest organizational growth in the org's history. Five new board members, three committee leads, and the first MACF Anniversary Magazine.

Opening

The fifth edition of MNG Summit landed in Southern California and coincided with the most significant organizational growth in the organization's history. A second cohort of board members and committee leads joined that September, including Lkhagva-Ochir Batsaikhan, Tsogtbilguundari Khishigbat, Batjargal Batbold, Munkhzul Bayanmunkh, Batkhaan Namshir, Bolortuya Otgonbaatar, Uuriintuya Mendsaikhan, and Yanjaa Munkhbat, who joined the committee in 2018 as a design lead after attending the 2017 Seattle event as a participant.

Legacy

The 2018 LA weekend also produced the first MACF Anniversary Magazine, a printed retrospective covering the Chicago, D.C., San Francisco, and Seattle editions. The magazine was distributed at the LA event and later uploaded to Issuu, where it has served as the de-facto historical record of the organization's first four years. The full 2018 LA speaker lineup is still being reconstructed from photographs and contemporaneous notes; the magazine itself remains the most reliable surviving artifact of the year.
