Battulga Odgerel

Research Analyst | Energy Policy Research Foundation

Battulga Odgerel is a research analyst at the Energy Policy Research Foundation (EPRINC) in Washington, DC. He has also served as a policy fellow for clean energy innovation at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) and an associate at Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA), and conducted his graduate practicum with DC Sustainable Energy Utility on energy efficiency. Battulga holds a master’s degree in energy policy and international economics from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, Washington, D.C.

Research Analyst | Federal Reserve Bank of New York

While attending the University of Finance and Economics in Mongolia, Uyanga made a decision to pursue her studies in the States. She transferred from Laney Community College to UC Berkeley and graduated with an economics degree with honors in 2018. During her studies at UC Berkeley, Uyanga  worked as a research assistant with UC Berkeley’s Institute for Research on Labor and Employment on issues related to wage and labor. In the summer of her third year, she was selected to participate in American Economic Association’s Summer Training Program and Scholarship Program, a prestigious program that prepares  talented undergraduates for doctoral programs in economics. Currently, Uyanga works as a research analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Ph.D Student and Research/Teaching Assistant, University of Albany, State University of New York

Battulga is a PhD student in Public Administration and Policy and Research/Teaching Assistant at the University at Albany, State University of New York. His research interests include e-governance, digital divide, and automated decision-making in the public sector. Tulga has a cross-sector experience both domestically and internationally. In Mongolia, he has worked for The Asia Foundation, Ulaanbaatar Citizens’ Representatives (City) Council, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the US, Tulga has worked for the City of Huntington Park (a municipal government in Los Angeles County), Innolume, Inc (a quantum-dot laser manufacturer), and US Market Access Center (a high-tech business accelerator). Tulga holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California, a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in International Business degrees from San Jose State University. He enjoys watching hockey, reading, and meeting new people.
